Marshwood Youth Baseball is a successful community program that offers baseball for kids ages 5 to 13. Last year the program had over 225 kids playing on 22 different teams at multiple levels, with the majority of funding coming from grass roots efforts like concessions, golf tournaments and raffles.
This community effort expanded last year to include fundraising for the Jimmy Fund, Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. In its first year, MYB raised over $1,500 for the Jimmy Fund. During the New England Cal Ripken Baseball annual presentation, Marshwood Youth Baseball was featured as the way to raise money for cancer research.
The Jimmy Fund provides research and care for children battling cancer and the Marshwood community showed great support for such an important cause. MYB is looking forward to another successful baseball season in 2020, including more support for the Jimmy Fund.
