18 arrested in Somersworth drug sweep

SOMERSWORTH � Authorities arrested 18 people Thursday as part of a Granite Shield operation focused on heroin, fentanyl and crystal meth trafficking in the Tri-City area.

Police from Somersworth, Dover and Rochester and members of the Strafford County and Rockingham County sheriff’s departments made the arrests in conjunction with a recent search at 16 Union St. in Somersworth.

Authorities seized several grams of a substance suspected to be heroin or fentanyl and approximately $5,800 in cash during that search. Police say additional arrests are anticipated as part of the ongoing investigation.

The 18 people arrested are:

Corey J. Theriault, 31, was charged with sale of a controlled drug (fentanyl). Theriault was charged at the state prison in Berlin, refused bail and scheduled for a video arraignment in Strafford County Superior Court Thursday.

Jack P. Haycock, 24, was charged with sale of a controlled drug (fentanyl). Haycock was charged at the Strafford County House of Corrections, refused bail and scheduled to be arraigned in Strafford County Superior Court Thursday.

Michael W. Harper, 33, a Somersworth man with no fixed address, was charged with possession of a controlled drug (Suboxone). Harper was charged at 16 Union St., released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 6.

William John Kimball, 37, of 688 Upper Guinea Road, Lebanon, Maine, was charged with possession a controlled drug (fentanyl). Kimball was charged at 16 Union St., held on $1,000 cash bail and scheduled to be arraigned in Strafford County Superior Court Thursday.

Justin F. Brito, 22, of 16 Union St., was charged with sale of a controlled drug (fentanyl/heroin). Brito was charged at 16 Union St., held on $5,000 cash bail and scheduled to be arraigned in Strafford County Superior Court Thursday.

Wesley A. Moody, 33, of 16 Union St., was arrested on a bench warrant for failure to appear. Moody was arrested at 16 Union St., was released and is scheduled to be arraigned in Dover District Court March 23.

Dustin M. Finch, 35, of 79 Park St. in Dover, was arrested on Epping warrants for forgery and theft by deception. Finch was charged at 16 Union St., was released and is scheduled to be arraigned in Brentwood District Court Feb. 6.

Alleson Marie Huckaby, 23, of 253 Main St. in Somersworth, was arrested on a Conway District Court bench warrant for conduct after an accident. Huckaby was charged at 16 Union St., released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Ossipee District Court Feb. 5.

Timothy Leccese, 30, of 2 Varney Road in Dover, was charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute (methamphetamine). Leccese was charged at 2 Varney Road, held on $5,000 cash bail and scheduled to be arraigned in Strafford County Superior Court Thursday.

Benjamin Hawthorne, 35, of 9 Heaton St., Apt. A, in Rochester, was charged with possession of a controlled drug (meth) and arrested on a parole violation. Hawthorne was charged at 141 Flagg Road in Gonic, refused bail and scheduled to be arraigned in Strafford County Superior Court at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

Kayla Marie Field, 32, whose last known address is the Riviera Motel on Route 125 in Rochester, was charged with possession of a controlled drug (heroin) and arrested on a theft warrant. Field was charged at the motel, held on $1,000 cash bail and scheduled to be arraigned in Strafford County Superior Court Thursday.

Vanessa Spear, 28, of 141 Flagg Road in Gonic, was arrested on a Rochester warrant for possession of a controlled drug (meth). Spear was arrested at 141 Flagg Road, held on $1,000 cash bail and scheduled to be arraigned in Strafford County Superior Court Thursday.

Tyler C. Leary, 28, whose last known address is at the Hi-Vu Motor Inn in Rochester, was charged with stalking (domestic violence). Leary was charged at the inn, was released on personal recognizance and is scheduled to be arraigned in Rochester District Court at 11 a.m. Feb. 27.

Tyler Ward, 33, a Rochester man with no fixed address, was charged with theft by unauthorized taking and arrested on a Strafford County Superior Court capias warrant for absconding from drug court supervision. Ward was charged at the inn and held while awaiting arraignment Thursday.

Kendall L. Brown, 33, of 6 Royal Crest Mobile Home Park in Rochester, was charged with possession of a controlled drug (Suboxone and heroin). Brown was charged at 16 Union St. in Somersworth, held on $1,000 cash bail and scheduled to be arraigned in Strafford County Superior Court at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

Joshua Morton, 36, of 244 Flagg Road in Gonic, was arrested on a bench warrant for failure to appear and a Strafford County Superior Court capias warrant for child support. Morton was charged at the Riviera Motel and was held while awaiting arraignment Thursday.

Cory Morton, 37, of 1 Manatee Drive in Rochester, was arrested on a bench warrant for failure to appear in Rochester District Court on a stalking charge. He was arrested at 141 Flagg Road in Gonic, released on personal recognizance and is scheduled to be arraigned at 8 a.m. Feb. 24.

Daniel G. Murphy 39, of 71B Indigo Hill Road in Somersworth, was arrested on a state police warrant. Murphy was arrested at 71 Indigo Hill Road, transported to the Strafford County jail and scheduled to be arraigned at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities were assisted by information from the New England State Police Information Network, Stewart�s Ambulance and state police, as well as grant funding through the state�s Granite Shield initiative.

The Granite Shield initiative allows for the combining of resources for a more effective approach in targeting the sale and distribution of controlled drugs, Somersworth Police Capt. Tim McLin wrote in a release Thursday.
